COACHING · Executive & Leadership Team Coaching
Lead as one team. Increase your collective impact.
An effective leadership team brings different expertise and perspectives together in service of the whole organization.
Rysing Tide helps executive and leadership teams strengthen how they think, decide, and work together. Through facilitated conversations, practical coaching, and application to real challenges, we help teams build trust, address disagreement, and take shared responsibility for their impact.
When individual capability needs to become collective strength
Your leaders may be highly capable within their own areas, yet struggle to operate as a team.
Meetings become a series of updates. Difficult issues move into side conversations. People leave with different interpretations of what was decided, or support a decision in the room without following through afterward.
A leadership transition, new team member, or period of change can make these patterns more visible. Coaching helps the team examine them together and develop a more effective way of leading.
HOW WE HELP
Strengthen how you lead together
Three connected areas of support
Align the leadership team
Establish what the team needs to accomplish collectively and what its members can expect from one another.
We help leaders explore the responsibilities they share beyond their individual functions. This includes how they bring issues forward, balance competing needs, and support decisions that serve the organization as a whole.
The work makes different assumptions about the team’s purpose and contribution discussable. Leaders develop shared expectations they can use in real meetings, decisions, and interactions.
Build trust & honest dialogue
Create the conditions for people to contribute openly, ask for help, acknowledge uncertainty, and challenge one another constructively.
We help the team recognize the patterns that limit honest discussion: assumptions left untested, disagreement avoided, or a few voices dominating the conversation. Facilitated work gives members an opportunity to understand different perspectives and practice more useful responses.
Trust develops through what happens repeatedly. We help the team agree on how it will listen, raise concerns, handle disagreement, and repair relationships when interactions fall short.
Strengthen shared accountability
Turn agreement into commitments people understand and support.
We help leaders clarify what has been decided, what each person will do, and how they will communicate the decision to their own teams. Members practice addressing obstacles and missed commitments directly, with clarity and respect.
This includes learning to hold one another accountable as peers. Shared results become a collective responsibility, supported by honest feedback and a willingness to address issues early.
FROM INTENT TO PRACTICE
Work on the team while working through real challenges
We begin by understanding the team’s context, goals, and experience of working together. Individual conversations and team reflection can help identify strengths, recurring tensions, and priorities for development.
Coaching then brings those findings into shared work. The team may examine a decision it is struggling to make, a difficult discussion it keeps postponing, or a pattern that appears whenever priorities compete.
We use those situations to practice different behaviors, agree on commitments, and review what changes between sessions.
Depending on the engagement, the work may include:
A shared understanding of the team’s purpose and responsibilities.
Leadership agreements for participation, communication, and decision-making.
Practical approaches to disagreement, feedback, and peer accountability.
Individual and collective commitments with a way to review progress.
A focused workshop or retreat can establish the foundation. Ongoing team coaching provides space to revisit agreements, work through new challenges, and strengthen habits over time. Individual coaching may support a leader’s development alongside the collective work.
Connect team effectiveness with organizational needs
When the team needs to make substantive choices about organizational direction, Business Strategy & Organizational Alignment provides that consulting support.
When wider structures, expectations, or workplace practices are reinforcing team difficulties, Organizational Culture & Team Performance can help address those conditions.
We can connect these approaches so the team develops its leadership while addressing the work the organization needs to move forward.
